Hilary Duff talked about her split from Joel Madden last year and said that the break up inspired some of the songs on her new album ‘Dignity’. She was particularly upset when Joel hooked up with Nicole Richie very soon after the break-up. Hilary Duff, who dated Joel for over 2 years, said of Joel and the break-up: “Last year was really difficult. It’s not fun seeing your ex with someone else.”
